A FLAG WILL FLY IN TRAMORE VALLEY PARK
Over spring/summer ‘23 artist Chelsea Canavan has been working alongside local individuals and communities on the co-creation of flags and their rituals for Tramore Valley Park. This exhibition of forty designs reflect on public space, multi-species inhabitants, and the flag as a metaphor for re-thinking historic land management.
Please cast your vote for a flag that contains the elements you wish the park flag to embody. The exhibition will travel from Douglas Library to The Atrium of Cork City Council Civic Offices for Heritage Week, Aug 12th -25th.
Public votes will be counted, shortlisted and the winning design will be announced at the end of Heritage Week.
A hand stitched original/archival flag of the winning design, handmade by the artist, will be displayed at the James Barry Exhibition Centre at MTU Bishopstown campus and flown in Tramore Valley Park. A series of limited edition digitally printed Flags of the winning design will be available.
